The houses on Andy\'s block are dingy. The brownstone fronts are crumbling, and some of the windows have card board stuck in them where the panes are broken. But if these houses are torn down and replaced by modern apartment buildings, what will happen to Andy and to his family and their neighbors?
Andy is browsing through an old book in his father\'s antique shop when he discovers the photograph of his street as it looked many years ago. The houses were once beautiful, and they may still have important historical value! With the help of his sister, Emily, and their friends, Andy begins the campaign that takes him to community meetings, to an abandoned celler where runaway slaves were hidden, and finally to City Hall in a determined effort to save his neigh borhood from destruction.
